Farrah is the Founder and Director of the Reiki for Military Program. She is a Certified Master Herbalist, Reiki Master Teacher, Natural Health Consultant, Wellness Advocate, and Doctorate student. She has been doing Reiki for nearly 5 years, and continues her educational and professional quest to help bring balance and happiness to herself and others.
Whether she is teaching a class, doing a Reiki treatment, blending a tea, giving guidance or just listening, she knows that she is helping someone find balance and health within themselves. Sometimes that means helping relieve physical pain, and sometimes it can mean helping alleviate emotional struggles or spiritual blockage. No matter the cause or the remedy, knowing that every day she devotes her life to helping others and sharing love and light... that is what makes her life worthwhile. And she can truly say that every single day she passionately loves what she does! "I was an active duty Navy submarine service spouse for 5 years, attached as a girlfriend/fiancé for another two before. I remember how hard life was for both of us. And there was really no help for us, or at least nothing useful. I guess the mentality is that because we were still active duty, we were obviously fine. But that's not the case. Our active duty service members and their families experience extreme chronic stress, anxiety, depression, fear, anger, and substance abuse, and unfortunately often, PTSD. But it's overlooked.
My perspective is that if we did a better job taking care of our soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, while they're still active... if we help them reduce and process the stress and other struggles, then we would have fewer broken, hurting veterans sleeping on street corners, or, worse, becoming part of the statistic of 22 veterans every day committing suicide. That thinking brought about the Reiki for Military Program. And others though it was good thinking. Thinkings that they had also been thinking. So they joined me on my quest, and together we have become a loving force of good and of kindness. And there's so much more to come! Seriously! I wake up every day really excited!" |
